The Very Reverend Paul Miles-Knight V.G.

Community Parish of the Holy Angels and chaplain to the local ASDA/Wal-Mart and a local Public House.

Funeral Ministry. Ex lay minister for the Church of England. ECCuk Treasurer.

Previous to forming the Parish of Holy Angels, Portsmouth with my partner Fr Brizz, I was a Lay-Minister within the Church of England, and had been involved in this ministry for some 15 years.   I had known for a long time that my real vocation was to the ordained ministry, and I was selected for ordination into an independant jurisdiction, eventually finding a real spiritual home in the ECC UK.

The Reverend Father Brizz Miles-Knight

Ministry Team for the Community Parish of the Holy Angels.

I was ordained to the priesthood on the 10th December 2006 along with two other ordinands and prayed my first Mass on 14th December which was a very spiritual occasion.

I was very happy and proud the day we were incardinated into the ECC UK.
What lays ahead nobody knows but with the strength of Our Lord we try our best to bring his word to all who wish to know him

I was born in St Mary's Hospital, Portsmouth on 29th September 1970 (Michaelmas) and Baptised on 20th December 1970 (then still celebrated as the Feast Day of St Thomas) and living in what was then the Naval Estate in Gosport . I went to school and grew up in and around the picturesque villages surrounding Chichester .

After completing A Levels I worked for a convenience store, where I transferred to Cheltenham and spent 8 years around the delights of the Cotswolds and Gloucestershire. Towards the end of this time, I decided to take a career change and went back to university for four years to train to be a teacher. I qualified in 2002 and settled in Gosport , where I currently teach Mathematics. In October 2009, my partner, Rob, and I Civil Partnered, celebrating our partnership with a Church Service, attended by my son, both our families and all our friends.

On 6th December 2009 , I was formally accepted into the ECCUK and was granted the position of Reader and Acolyte. I was ordained to the Diaconate on the 10 April 2010 and ordained to the priesthood on the 1st October 2011, celebrating my first Eucharist on our Patronal feast the following day.  Personally, I enjoy the formal service of either the Roman-rite or its Anglican equivalent along with some uplifting hymns. Being an adaptable person it doesn't matter how you worship, just that you take some time to say 'Hello God, I am still here!'

We are Chaplains of ASDA in Fratton, as well as the "Old Vic" pub in Southsea. We enjoy being in both places and spending time with staff and customers alike. Fr Paul is also Provincial Grand Chaplain of the RAOB "The Buffs" in Gosport, and a Freemason. When we have a rare bit of spare time, we like to spend it together, along with the telly or a book, and several large Gins and tonic!
If you would like to know more, please feel free to ask - we don't bite!

Originally from Manchester I have been settled with my wife Lorna, in Liverpool since 1987.  We have a son and a daughter who are themselves leading interesting and diverse lives. During this time I have been fortunate to teach in a variety of Special Schools throughout Merseyside. I currently teach students with disabilities and a visual impairment.

I am excited by the emerging church movement, contemplative spirituality, the music & liturgy of the church and exploring ways of being an inclusive church.  Within the ECC-UK can be found an expression of the Catholic faith that I believe lies hidden within the ‘Roman’ expression of that faith, in the same way as the statue lies hidden within a slab of marble.

Having recently been ordained a Priest with the ECC-UK, the emerging catholic community in Liverpool under the patronage of St Gabriel can begin to flourish.  More information can be found on our website here.   or click the logo below.

Rev Maria Renate

Rev Maria Renate, is guardian of the "Faithful Companions of St Francis" (FCSF) a community of people striving to follow in the footsteps of St Francis.  Based in the Merseyside area, a religious sister, in perpetual vows, she was ordained to Priesthood by Bishop Terry on Pentecost Sunday 2009. The work of the faithful companions includes the "Bethlehem Community" The Bethlehem Community has inclusion and outreach to those hurt, and even attacked or persecuted, by other churches as its main objective and has found in the ECC-UK a harbour and home where that principal of openness and inclusivity is not lost, watered down or even opposed by man-made rules.
